Our Season 5 Launch Teaser for Talking While Fckd
Darlings. Oh me, oh my…
We legit almost vanquished off the face of this earth... didn’t we? As we have shared on this blog 2021 and 2022 continued to pound us into the ground, and the truth— well— our truth— is that the pandemic continues to have incredibly disastrous implications for theatres and small businesses everywhere… even though not everyone feels the same way.
And although that remains the backdrop to everything we all do, we Luna’s survived and clawed our way back to tell another story. Another LIVE story.. and that means Season 5 of TWF is back with an all-new title:
Talking While Fckd. Season 5 launches March 23rd, 2023 at Studio Luna in Boyle Heights with the first episode, CRESCENDO.
To celebrate and honor this feat of survival we put together this little teaser for you.
It really became our artistic expression for the tightness in our chest that we were finally able to release. This teaser was emotional to create but oh so fun to share now that we found the words to share how hard it has been to be without our live events and be in community with you. It certainly made us interrogate who we are, why do we still want to exist, and how we want to serve. Anyguayyyy, we hope it communicates what has been in our hearts—- a very warm invitation to our new space on the same block here on 1st street.
PS: Every episode of this series features brand new stories that inspire through the power of truth-telling and vulnerability from artists, activists, makers, writers, and thinkers. Ride with us as these epic tales unfold as we cast light and a mic on real-life experiences from Black, Indigenous, Women Of Color (BIWOC) as an act of resistance to erasure.
Connecting through stories, histories, and futures has always been the foundation of our healing practice in person and digitally. To jog your memory, we launched Season 1 of Talking While Female Storytelling Sessions in 2018 with a desire to connect in our new artistic home in Boyle Heights. 2023 brings Season 5 into the mix with a new, more inclusive title, a whole new slate of storytellers, a new energy, and a NEW SPACE on the SAME BLOCK at 2003 East 1st, Los Angeles 90033
